NFKB2 – Ab-866 Polyclonal Antibody

The NFKB2 – Ab-866 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and versatile antibody designed for detecting NF-kappa B2 (NFKB2) protein, a critical transcription factor involved in regulating immune response, inflammation, apoptosis, and cell proliferation. This antibody is particularly useful for studying the canonical and non-canonical NF-kappa B signaling pathways, which are implicated in various physiological and pathological processes such as cancer, autoimmune diseases, and chronic inflammatory conditions.

Background on NFKB2

NFKB2 is a member of the NF-kappa B/Rel protein family and exists in two main forms:

  • p100: An inactive precursor that undergoes proteasomal processing to generate p52.
  • p52: An active transcription factor that forms heterodimers with RelB to regulate gene expression.

NFKB2 is involved in:

  1. Immune Response: Regulating cytokine production and immune cell activation.
  2. Lymphoid Organogenesis: Critical for the formation of secondary lymphoid organs.
  3. Cancer Progression: Aberrant activation of NFKB2 is associated with tumorigenesis and resistance to therapy.
  4. Chronic Inflammation: Sustained NFKB2 activation contributes to conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and atherosclerosis.

Key Features of NFKB2 – Ab-866 Polyclonal Antibody

  1. High Specificity: Targets both p100 and p52 forms of NFKB2 with minimal cross-reactivity.
  2. Polyclonal Production: Recognizes multiple epitopes, enhancing sensitivity and robustness.
  3. Broad Application: Validated for Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF), and ELISA.
  4. High Purity: Affinity-purified to ensure minimal background noise in experiments.

Applications

1. Western Blot (WB)

  • Detect and differentiate NFKB2 isoforms in cell lysates or tissue extracts.
  • Applications: Studies on NFKB2 processing in cancer, immune cell signaling, and inflammatory responses.

2. Immunohistochemistry (IHC)

  • Visualize NFKB2 distribution in tissue sections.
  • Applications: Assessing NFKB2 expression in diseased tissues like tumor biopsies or inflamed organs.

3. Immunofluorescence (IF)

  • Localize NFKB2 within cells using fluorescently labeled secondary antibodies.
  • Applications: Visualizing nuclear translocation of NFKB2 during activation.

4. Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP)

  • Investigate NFKB2 binding to DNA regulatory regions to understand its role in gene expression.
  • Applications: Decoding transcriptional networks regulated by NFKB2.

5. Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA)

  • Quantify NFKB2 levels in cell lysates or biological fluids.
  • Applications: Monitoring NFKB2 activity under different experimental conditions.
